Jeg er forsker innen politisk økologi og ressursforvaltning, med fokus på de sosiale og politiske konsekvensene av energiprosjekter og utvinning av naturressurser. Forskningen min undersøker hvordan statlige og selskapsmessige krav om ressurs- og energisikkerhet ofte kommer i konflikt med lokale hensyn til bærekraftige livsgrunnlag og popular suverenitet. Jeg undersøker de historiske røttene og samtidige konfliktene som oppstår som følge av dette misforholdet, og utforsker mulige politiske og juridiske tiltak for å redusere de mest alvorlige sosiale og miljømessige konsekvensene.
